Has anyone any ideas on slide-ons? The setting up of anything seems to be easy but the packing up or folding up seems to be a bit more of a chore. As I go camping with family (hubby not that keen) I need to be independent. If anyone has had anything to do with them - are they heavy to carry, top heavy or anything else that I would need to know - thankyou

Hi I owned a slide on camper for a short while and have to say it was extremely compliant to camping two up however when there was some additions to our tribe ( two wonderful children) it was a bit laking for storage so we eventualy made the purchase of a Cavalier Camper Trailer, now we can load up the trailer with all our stuff and also fit the kids stuff in the ute as well as the kitchen sink. While I dont regret the purchase of the slideon camper it did limit the amount of equipment we as a family could take on a trip. hope this helps a little in your decision.
p.s. set up for both takes us now around 7 min's including anex, whilst paking up is usualy around 20 min's for the cavalier and from memory the slide on used to take around 15 min's.

Thank you Brett for your reply. Could you please tell me the brand of slide-on that you owned. I know that having the children you would need extra room but for 2 people I thought that there would be enough room in a slide-on for gear etc. - Nell

We attended the Caravan & Camping Show in Melbourne about 3 years ago and were impressed with the Carry-Van Slide-On. Now that we are ready to purchase one they seem to have gone out of business. Does any one know what happened to them or did anyone purchase one?
