Alert | | Q: I am considering travelling from Brisbane to Melbourne in a Motor Home. Is it economical to hire one considering all the sites I'll see on the way, or should I find another form of transport? | | | |

Alert | Hi Ratbag,
Hiring a motorhome isn't necessarily about economy, it's about flexibility and having everything you need with you.
It's also hard to answer that question without knowing your budget, but you should check out www.keacampers.com and www.apollocamper.com, and work out how much a suitable motorhome would cost to rent, per day, factor in up to $100 a day for fuel, depending on how much driving you're going to do, and then compare it to alternate accommodation.
There might be a few out-of-the way places you want to stay that have caravan parks with powered sites, and nowhere else to spend the night, and this is where a fully self-contained motorhome comes into its own. And if it's equipped with solar panels and a decent-size water tank, then you can stop nearly anywhere.
I hope this is of assistance!
Happy travels,
