I am interested if you get a reply on a service manual for the hydraulics as we have a 16' prattline. Our van has a 12 volt pump for the hydraulics. We recently purchased this van and are in the process of renewing the interior. The hydaulics need attention but are not leaking. I dont know of any Prattline clubs.

Went to A1 Caravans, 12v Hyd Conversion would cost about $2500, parts alone nearly $2000. Van only cost $6500 so would not really worth the expenditure.Would still like hyd service details. Gordont

G'day I have an old 17ft that has been reconditioned and am very happy with all aspects.
But the manual hydraulic pump has caused major problems....so much so that I just had to release all valves at once to get top down ! Would really appreciate copy of manual to help get it up again! kenwhitlock@hotmail.com
Thanks

Hi guys
I have recently modified my Prattline hydraulic manual system to electric 12V battery operated and it cost me aprox 200A$. It is reasonable simple task for handyman. First, I have purchased Jaguar hydraulic booster brake pump (150A$ secondhand) and one way valve (high pressure 10A$).
Second, disconnected tube between pump and reservoir (inlet to manual pump). Connected outlet of reservoir to electric pump inlet and one way valve by T join (this connection is low pressure normal plastic or rubber tube and T join will do). Connected outlet of electric pump with other end of one way valve and inlet of manual pump by T joint (this connection is high pressure, need high pressure tube and T joint. Now my Prattline top is coming up in about 30-40sec and if I want to, I can lift it by hand pump in case of flat buttery atc. The only thing is, you have to tight the handle of manual pump when you operate electric pump otherwise it will go up to vertical position.

Hi gunado
I have not done any pictures yet but will do maybe tuday. If you need any more explanations please ask.
I am intending to extend my project to make hydraulicly operate stabilising legs and some more but I need for this more valves in manual pump body.
Anybody know how many ports (hydraulic outputs) is available in biggest Prattline, my has four, heared about six?, maybe eight?
Enybody have spare unused manual pump? could be completly not working, I need the valves only.

I have been thinking of possibilities but I think you have hit the jackpot , a lot better than the $2500 I was quoted. My email is GHTomo@ bigpond.net.au . The service sheets have proved popular I have sent out lots. GordonT Victor Harbor SA

Hi Gordont
I will send you the photo by email, same as I send to gunado. It will be easyer if I know how to put the photo into this forum but I have not figure out it yet. I did not make any diagrams becouse it is very simple, it is easier to conect it then explain what I have done. If you will have any questions, fill fre to ask.

Hi norm43wa
Photo is comming up.
I used Jaguar booster pump becouse I new its aproximate parameters. To raise the top of my caravan it is needed pressure of aprox 40-50bar this pump is able to produce up to 100bars, please do not try waterpumps, they have to low preasure, aspecially if you intend to lift top of the large caravan. I think any hydraulic brake booster pump will be able to produce above preassures, as far as I know some BMW models are equiped with such a pump.
