Moonta Bay

We travelled to Moonta Bay in July for a few days of R&R, what an absolutely delightful caravan park they have there, it is one of the cleanest we have come across, so neat and tidy and quite. Mind you we went during the week and left on a Saturday. The weather was delightful no rain while we were there, cold nights but it is winter. We both got a book read and even had a Willy Wagtail come and sit on our knee whilst reading we were one with nature. We did try some fishing but had no luck. We took the bikes with us and did the heritage trail and that was an enjoyable day out, we would have liked to have done the train ride they have but it was closed. Oh well we will have to just go back another day. We were very surprised as to amount of housing construction happening in the region and I'm talking a lot of housing, not sure where all these people are going to find work and it might make the seaside too busy but at the moment Moonta Bay is a delightful quiet place. I can highly recommend it.

We also spent a day at the Adelaide Caravan & Camping Show and had a great time checking out whats new with vans etc. We purchased some more goodies and can't wait for the big one in February next year.

Our next destination is Williamstown (SA) for a weekend sometime soon.

Cheers

Shazzy May! I was wondering where you might be! I have stayed at the Moonta Bay Caravan Park myself, the owner is a great guy - Richard Davis - highly recommend it to any one!
Keep us up to date! Love to hear about your travels!

Hi Shazzy May
We also enjoyed our few days stay at Moonta Bay, had a beautiful site facing the water, was amused by cheeky seagulls fighting each other for food scraps, We loved the history, mine tour and beautiful old buildings, and we look forward to returnning in the near future.
Enjoy your future travels!
