Its school holidays, again? so soon ? you sure about that I hear many parents exclaim with shock and horror my case its the best time for its time when Michael ,one's son comes to see dad and I would not miss the time spent with Michael for any thing . Marron session is upon us, a short time held in the early part of the year normally for about two weeks and licence are required .
Is it on says Michael can we go Marroning ? why not I say to myself ,Shane's just dropped in some of them Mandurah king prawns he got last night."Grab the drop nets along with some bait ,don't forget the light Michael." I yell out !
Marron spots are some of the best kept secrets around normally they require some effort just to get to the waters edge . Down gravel tracks picking the easiest path around rocks and holes ,still being tossed about as we travel to the water's edge.

Won't be long now its the last hill to travel down and we there I say to Michael.Once we get there ,check out some good spots to set the nets just before sunset (Marron move after dark ) .You know under logs, ,in the shady spots and ware it gets deep.

Net's baited and set, Michael look's rather pleased with his choice, as I am.
Jutta master cook has told us if we are lucky she will knock up a feed fit for a King and with that thought in our minds we fished through the evening ,and was a great night's fishing
a awesome feed Chilli Mussels in a Spring onion salad

then followed with Marron Delight in a Bok Choy salad.
Jutta recommends a Houghton's "classic white" wine

Gives a idea of Marron size compared to a King Prawn and the type layout in the news paper bloody ripper Marron
