Sorry its been awhile
New Commers to the Block By Shazzy May on26/02/2009
Well I have been very slack indeed in keeping everyone posted with our various adventures we have been busy travelling all around our State and then did a couple of weeks to Tasmania (very beautiful) and we only got to see a small section just loved Port Arthur, we will be going back there one day in the not too distant future to further explore. We recently went to Murray Bridge and stayed (had a swap meet to attend) and as usual we mixed business with pleasure, its quite a nice town and I being a Riverland girl just love the Murray River. Anyway we still have our old Jurgen van but have just also bought ourselves a larger one (12'6") stop laughing it is bigger than our Jurgen and it is a Jayco Freedom Pop Top, we are planning on travelling from January next year (working / holiday) not sure for how long and where we will start, but somewhere cooler for our hot summers, we will work that out in the near future, al lot to plan for the big trip and we still want to do small trips as well. Our next one is ...

Travel / work around Australia
Travel / work around Australia By topsyturvey onSaturday, 1 November 2008 11:42 a.m.

I am soon to be laid off March 2009 at age 59, (like more and more of us) so instead of vegging at home feeling sorry for myself we are thinking of fulfilling a dream from years ago, travel the country, what are the draw backs, problems, benefits, is there work out there for the short or long stays, we would be looking at being away six months to whatever. We will be living in our caravan, I do not foresee any problems there, the tow vehicle is sound also.

If you have done it or are doing it please pass on your thoughts, are there clubs etc, how do you pay Tax do you need a ABN #.

New Jayco Expanda HL (Hard Lid)
3 Kids And A Caravan By Jodes on1/11/2008
Woo Hoo!!!!  Our new Jayco Expanda finally arrived and we took off for a trip to the ACT with our 3 children.  This was a bit of a practice run for our "big trip" next year (2009) when we're taking the kids out of school for a term and doing a tour of New South Wales and Queensland.

We've only been back 3 weeks and already we're itching to head off again.

It was so much fun and SO luxurious after having spent the last decade travelling in a camper trailer.  We still love our camper trailer but having a sink and built in fridge, cupboards and so forth.  It makes travelling life so much easier (especially the food preparation).

I thought we'd struggle to find enough room for our gear with 5 of us but it's amazing how much you can fit in those things!

If you'd like to follow our journey, we'd love for you to pop over to our family blog, 3 Kids And a Caravan and ...

Delivery and first trip
Our Queensland Holiday By jasmel05 on5/09/2008 4:11 p.m.
We just took delivery of our new 21 foot Galaxy caravan that we had custom built for us last Friday and couldn't wait to get in it and start travelling so we quickly    what we needed together and went for a few nights to West Beach Caravan Park, SA to test it out.  Luckily for us the weather was great for our first trip and the van was fantastic.

We have a two and a half year old boy and an eleven month old girl so wanted to make a van that would be practical and comfortable for us in years to come if we chose to travel further afield.

Well aside from the few normal glitches you would expect we are totally happy with what we have.

West Beach Caravan Park was lovely as well, right on the beach, good security, clean amenities with a seperate baby bathroom and todder and full size pool, great playground, big games room and large double concrete sites.

I enjoyed cooking on my new gas cooktop and in the oven and built in ...
