| I am soon to be laid off March 2009 at age 59, (like more and more of us) so instead of vegging at home feeling sorry for myself we are thinking of fulfilling a dream from years ago, travel the country, what are the draw backs, problems, benefits, is there work out there for the short or long stays, we would be looking at being away six months to whatever. We will be living in our caravan, I do not foresee any problems there, the tow vehicle is sound also. If you have done it or are doing it please pass on your thoughts, are there clubs etc, how do you pay Tax do you need a ABN #. | | | Comments (8) |

| New Jayco Expanda HL (Hard Lid) | | 3 Kids And A Caravan
| By Jodes on1/11/2008 | |
| | Woo Hoo!!!! Our new Jayco Expanda finally arrived and we took off for a trip to the ACT with our 3 children. This was a bit of a practice run for our "big trip" next year (2009) when we're taking the kids out of school for a term and doing a tour of New South Wales and Queensland. We've only been back 3 weeks and already we're itching to head off again. It was so much fun and SO luxurious after having spent the last decade travelling in a camper trailer. We still love our camper trailer but having a sink and built in fridge, cupboards and so forth. It makes travelling life so much easier (especially the food preparation). I thought we'd struggle to find enough room for our gear with 5 of us but it's amazing how much you can fit in those things! If you'd like to follow our journey, we'd love for you to pop over to our family blog, 3 Kids And a Caravan and ... | | | Comments (1) | More... |

| Delivery and first trip | | Our Queensland Holiday
| By jasmel05 on5/09/2008 4:11 p.m. | |
| | We just took delivery of our new 21 foot Galaxy caravan that we had custom built for us last Friday and couldn't wait to get in it and start travelling so we quickly what we needed together and went for a few nights to West Beach Caravan Park, SA to test it out. Luckily for us the weather was great for our first trip and the van was fantastic. We have a two and a half year old boy and an eleven month old girl so wanted to make a van that would be practical and comfortable for us in years to come if we chose to travel further afield. Well aside from the few normal glitches you would expect we are totally happy with what we have. West Beach Caravan Park was lovely as well, right on the beach, good security, clean amenities with a seperate baby bathroom and todder and full size pool, great playground, big games room and large double concrete sites. I enjoyed cooking on my new gas cooktop and in the oven and built in ... | | |

| A Weekend In Williamstown | | New Commers to the Block
| By Shazzy May on25/08/2008 | |
| | Hi everyone out there, thanks for the comments on our little adventures it is always nice to know someone is reading them. We had a weekend in Williamstown and did some bushwalking around the place and a drive as well, lovely little bakery in the town itself, had a nice delicious country pie, the bash cars were in town on the Saturday but unfortunately we only got to see the tail enders. Not overly impressed with the caravan park, don't get me wrong the owners / caretakers were very friendly but the park itself didn't have "a feel" about it and there was far too much possum poo and wee smell around our site for my liking, I don't think I could have stayed for longer than a night. Some caravan parks have a lovely feel about the place and others don't, for us anyway, not sure how other people judge their stays, the facilities were clean and tidy so I couldn't fault that, it is only a small park nestled in amongst the trees which sounds nice enough but it didn't do it for us. On the Sunday we went ... | | | Comments (2) | More... |

| Moonta Bay | | New Commers to the Block
| By Shazzy May on7/08/2008 | |
| We travelled to Moonta Bay in July for a few days of R&R, what an absolutely delightful caravan park they have there, it is one of the cleanest we have come across, so neat and tidy and quite. Mind you we went during the week and left on a Saturday. The weather was delightful no rain while we were there, cold nights but it is winter. We both got a book read and even had a Willy Wagtail come and sit on our knee whilst reading we were one with nature. We did try some fishing but had no luck. We took the bikes with us and did the heritage trail and that was an enjoyable day out, we would have liked to have done the train ride they have but it was closed. Oh well we will have to just go back another day. We were very surprised as to amount of housing construction happening in the region and I'm talking a lot of housing, not sure where all these people are going to find work and it might make the seaside too busy but at the moment Moonta Bay is a delightful quiet place. I can highly recommend it.& ... | | | Comments (2) | More... |

| Kapunda Trip | | New Commers to the Block
| By Shazzy May on22/06/2008 | |
| | Shazzy May and Co finally got to go to Kapunda on the long weekend in June and what a delightful caravan park they have there. It is a very laid back park but that is what we like and there is plenty of bird life because of all the trees around the park. The vistior information centre is also an excellent place full of wonderful information and great staff. We took our push bikes this time and had great fund riding around the area. The weather was kind to us on the Saturday for our ride around the area. Sunday was overcast but still very pleasant and we again ventured out on the push bikes and had a barby at the park. When it did rain we ventured into the museum there and what a delight it is one of the best museums we have been to and spent nearly three hours there taking in all they had absolutely brilliant and if anyone is going to Kapunda please take the time to visit this place and it also a great price to enter will fit anyones budget. Monday we packed up and then went for a drive to ... | | | Comments (0) | More... |

| Take a walk/ spin fish. | | Travelfishtv
| By Ian hollow on25/05/2008 12:35 p.m. | |
| One thing about our travel habits ,is that we are very connected to the sea and coastal regions .We all share the unique opportunity to be able to experience and do so many things that others in the world can only dream about .
So why not, while camped at a stream, river ,or in one of the many parks by the sea, decide to take a walk , take the rod and pack let's go and explore. Spin fishing today with the new, light weight balance combos makes carrying a rod and real easy .Along with the development of artificial bait (plastic's, lurers ) the need for fresh bait is now not a issue, so a walk with rod in hand, is a simple thing to do for it's not really about catching a fish, but you most likely will. What's it about you may asked then? It's about looking within the greater landscape, the things ones sees while looking at the world with a macro lens mind set .This just happens when spin fishing, while yo ... | | | Comments (0) | More... |
