Alert | I picked up a brand new Kangaroo Camper 6 at the Illawarra Camping show last year for under $3000. It kept me in comfort for 5 months and 23,000 km around the Highway 1 trek last Autumn. It is only meant for on road and the dusk will get in under the back of the cover if taken on dirt roads.
The camper 9 is for off road and costs a few thousnad more. Get to the same show next weekend if you are local and see hundreds of others.
Or buy mine for $2500 with annex walls and a spare wheel. I keep it in Mt Druitt, Sydney.

Alert | Hi Subi! I think Tourer's on the right track by advising you to hire one first. That way, you will realise what you like about it and what you would like in the one you eventually buy. We owned an Aussie Swag camper trailer, and although they are more expensive than some of the other brands on the market, we found it was just the bees knees! It had everything you could possibly want. We took it on an 8 week NT and WA outback camping holiday and even into the Bungle Bungles in WA, and it stood up to the challenges admirably. Good luck with your shopping around and your travels!

Alert | | While we're sort of on the topic of tents, does anyone have an OzTent? We would like some feedback on what you think of them, as we are thinking of buying one.

Alert | | I have just picked up my trailer tent from the local steel fabricators, North Coast Steel, Kempsey NSW. I brought the tent from Westlat in Victoria the quality of which is excellant. While at the steel works they could have sold it 4 times and one person has already made contact with Westlat. the trailer is a standard 7x4 on road which has been modified. A drop down table on the tailgate which has left side hinge, stalbizer legs at the back. Another pin type leg on tow bar for stablization with the jocky wheel giving 4 points. Also has a frame on top of the trailer with legs down each corner that gives extra height and provides a seperate stand for the tent if I want to use the trailer seperately. Am very excited about my first adventure.
