I am interested in purchasing a tent trailer for a trip that I will be taking through outback Australia and do not know where to start?

What price do the range from and can anyone point me to a company or website that makes them?

I picked up a brand new Kangaroo Camper 6 at the Illawarra Camping show last year for under $3000. It kept me in comfort for 5 months and 23,000 km around the Highway 1 trek last Autumn. It is only meant for on road and the dusk will get in under the back of the cover if taken on dirt roads.

The camper 9 is for off road and costs a few thousnad more. Get to the same show next weekend if you are local and see hundreds of others.

Or buy mine for $2500 with annex walls and a spare wheel. I keep it in Mt Druitt, Sydney.

We found our rooftop tent ideal for us - it may also be worth considering?

Perhaps you shoud try hiring first, If you are down Victoria way There is one hirer Go Bush Camping who have both soft floor and hard floor campers in their fleet. They have a web site under their name. As the others have said there is a huge range and price range to choose from.

Have a look at Mountaintrail campers. Have a friend who has purchased 1 & extremly happy. Plenty of communication during the build & nothing was a problem.
