Green Nomads – Qld Only
Green Nomads is an exciting new casual volunteering program that brings together Australia's large transient population including the Grey Nomads with volunteer community natural resource management (NRM) groups who require extra volunteers to undertake conservation works in their local communities. By joining the program travellers are able to access numerous volunteering opportunities with local community natural resource management (NRM) groups throughout Queensland to undertake activities, including community education and manual labour based activities such as tree planting, while they travel around our beautiful state. What's involved? Joining the program involves paying an annual subscription, which gives volunteers access to a 'member only' section of this website, and where they can browse and register to attend volunteering events that fit in with their travel itineraries. To celebrate the launch of Green Nomads we are currently offering a 2 for 1 special on all new subscriptions. When you first sign up you will be given an extra years membership for free. This offer is only valid until the end of August 2009. Benefits By becoming a Green Nomad you not only can participate in a range of volunteering opportunities around Queensland, but you also join our online community. In the members only section of the website you can keep in touch with fellow Green Nomads via private messaging, share conversations and pictures on the community's forum and photo gallery and keep track of your friends latest location via a map. For more information on becoming a GREEN NOMAD, you can check out their website www.greennomads.com.au or call 07) 3252 7154
