Casino Village RV Resort
More than a tourist park, Casino Village RV Resort on the northern NSW coast is a home on the road. Casino Village RV Resort is unique in the world of caravan parks and tourist resorts. The park caters for RVs of all shapes and sizes. It has shady hedged sites for individual campers, easy-access drive-through sites for long rigs, and an open area known as Mini Rally, which is suitable for RVers travelling in convoys. Developed in part by members of the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA), Casino Village was designed by people who had plenty of experience in RV travel and is open to everybody in the RV world, whatever they might travel in. PLENTY OF FACILITIES Located on the site of the old Casino Airport, Casino Village (formerly known as CMCA Casino Village) is not quite six years old. It is conveniently located on the Summerland Way on the far north coast of NSW. Facilities include a state of the art drive-over dump point and separate cassette dumps, ensuite sites and overnight cabins, some with cooking facilities.
In addition, there is a solar-heated, saltwater, walk-in-style pool, a couple of games rooms converted from old aircraft hangers, a library and a guest kitchen. The old airport terminal building has become an air-conditioned clubhouse which is ideal for seminars, AGMs, dinners and conferences and has a cafe that’s surrounded by shade sails. For keen golfers, there’s a nine-hole pitch and putt-style golf course with a full nine-hole course on the drawing board. Casino Village is also pet-friendly, but there are some conditions – a maximum of two pets per RV are allowed and the owners should be responsible. For those who really like Casino Village, it also has a manufactured housing precinct for over 50s. The home sites are spacious, 400-500sqm on average and (most importantly) they allow for an RV to be parked alongside the home.

| LOTS TO DO Both travellers and permanent residents alike are welcome to take part in the many activities on offer, which can include aqua-aerobics, line dancing, craft, disc bowls, woodworking, eight ball, darts, movies, carpet bowls and lots more. For the arty folk, there is also a studio which is available for guests to use. Of course, that very important function in an RV traveller’s day, happy hour, is held daily at 4.30pm in the barbecue hut where travellers can swap tales of their adventures. There are free gas barbecues and camp kitchen facilities available. At Casino Village, the environment has not been forgotten. At present, an on-site waste water treatment plant is being completed. It will allow all waste water from the village to be treated and expand the number of sites that can be used. As well, many thousands of trees have been planted on site – the old airport didn’t have many! In addition to the regular on-site activities, a number of events are hosted throughout the year – market days on the fifth Sunday of the month, a disc bowls festival, a bushman’s heritage festival, a bi-annual National Camp Oven Festival, and the Lions’ Christmas carols by candlelight. The village also provides a venue for vintage and veteran car clubs, an archery club and even speed trials for a motorbike club have been hosted. Visitors are always welcome at Casino Village RV Resort, whether it’s just to come for a cup of coffee and a look around, or for an overnight stay (or longer) in your RV.
