It’s the start of a brand new year for Discover Downunder and what a year it promises to be. We’ll be bringing you new and exciting holiday destinations, there’ll be characters to meet, spectacular panoramas, RV’s, caravans, campers, motor homes, competitions and more.
In our first two episodes of 2008, we have assembled a convoy and we are set to Discover South Australia and the stunning Yorke Peninsula.

Our convoy is made up of two caravans, a motorhome and a camper trailer, so there is something for everyone. We begin our travels in the popular tourist destination of Ardrossan fishing for blue swimmer crabs, delicious!

Then it is onto Port Vincent, which is tagged as the water sport centre of the Peninsula, but it also carries the crown of the ’Tidiest Town’, no denying that.
We visit the Marine Studies Centre at the Port Vincent Primary School,
With the students informing our group about all things fishy! Well worth a trip.
Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park offers beachfront location and a host of amenities:
It is also the best spot for a seafood barbie! You can’t have too much of a good thing.

Wool Bay is home to the friendly, likeable and very cute alpacas.
A word of warning, they hate to be called Llamas, which is perhaps why they spit with an accuracy of 30 feet! Stand back! And there was even a baby on the farm, which is just gorgeous.

The Paper Nymph Top Shop in Warooka is our next stop. There they produce fine hand-made-paper. And while there you can also discover the meaning and origin of your name! Now that’s something different.

The Marion Bay Caravan Park nestled amongst shady native trees, has been designed as a modern day bush camp. Chris and Jane Grant will ensure you stay will be an enjoyable one, just like ours.

The Innes National Park, with its rugged coastlines, abundance of wildflowers and stunning views is breathtaking, a valuable park for conserving biodiversity, and the half way point of our trip. We also meet an elder who tells us a part of the history of this great area, and finds time to treat us to a song.

All that and we barely scratch the surface of this wonderful region. We also give you a look at our first competition for the year, sit back and relax as you learn all about the fabulous Supreme Territory in our ever-popular RV Showcase. Gee it’s good to be back and Discovering Down Under for another year. See you on the road and happy trails.
